Welcome to this weeks 920 Tech Weekly Round up! Let’s see what has been in the news this week…
A 22 year old British Security Researcher who goes by the name MalwareTech has been offered a $14,000NZ reward after accidentally activating the kill switch on a cyber-attack. MalwareTech modestly said he doesn’t do what he does for the money and will be donating the reward from HackerOne to a yet decided charity.
Volvo and Renova have come together to design a self-driving rubbish truck. The truck has 360 degree sensors which can detect obstacles including people. The purpose of the project is for the truck to be more environmentally friendly and to make the job less strenuous for employees.
Scientists have discovered a “Cold Spot” about three billion light years from earth which may be proof that we are part of a multiverse. It is believed that the Cold Spot was created from a parallel universe crashing into ours which resulted in energy being pushed out of a large area – similar to cars pilling up on the motorway after an accident.
Have a great weekend!
