Announcing NZ’s IT Rockstar for 2008…. ADAM BROWN!

by Megan

NZ’s Search for an IT Rockstar is finally over and we can proudly say that Adam Brown is our Rockstar for 2008!!

Adam Brown beat two finalists last Wednesday night (26th of May) to win the title of “New Zealand’s IT Rock Star” and $10,000 towards a trip to an international ICT conference of his choice.

The three finalists answered challenging questions and locked guitars in the video game Guitar Hero before judges announced Adam the winner of the competition.

Adam, 27, is the founder of First In – a website where bargain hunters can snaffle the latest deals on a range of goods, including electronics and sporting equipment.

He also co-founded the Wellington Phoenix soccer team fan site Yellow Fever, and MyTradesman – a tradesmen review website.

He says his new-found fame is yet to spread and he has not yet been stopped for his autograph.

“I’m still hoping that might happen.” He will use the money to go to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, where he says he will mix business with pleasure.

“I’ll definitely go and experience the sights that Las Vegas has to offer. Las Vegas is a rock star town.”
